Faculty Member
Description:
Edgewood College of Georgia attempts to hire faculty that have extensive clinical experience, good teaching skills, an understanding of the school's mission and teaching philosophy, and a respect for the diversity of approaches in medicine, both general and Oriental. To this end, the school generally adheres to the following guidelines for faculty selection:

Job Duties:
- Prepares a class syllabus from the “core syllabus” for each course and distributes a copy to each student during the first class
- Keeps accurate attendance records on the class roll
- Starts and ends class on time.
- Gives quality instruction in the course taught
- Informs students of all schedules, meeting times, holidays, and changes to the syllabus
- Submits a copy of the grade report sheet, the syllabus, handouts, quizzes, tests, exams, and attendance sheets for the course to the Director of Academics and the registrar within one week after the end of the trimester
- Understands the mission statement and educational objectives of the school
Necessary Qualifications
Oriental Medicine academic faculty and clinic supervisors:
- Minimum of seven years work experience in the field of instruction preferred for clinical supervisors
- Minimum of three years teaching experience preferred for faculty members
- Must be able to convey ideas clearly in the language of instruction (English)
- Master's degree-level training or equivalent in Oriental Medicine
- Legally able to practice and supervise in the state of Georgia (for clinic supervisors)
Bioscience faculty:
- Minimum of three years of teaching and/or clinical experience (depending upon topic taught)
- Must be able to convey ideas clearly in the language of instruction
- Preferred master's degree-level education or higher in the area of instruction
Faculty for related topics (for example qi gong, practice management, ethics, etc.):
- Minimum three years of practice in the field of instruction
- Preferably two years of teaching experience
- Appropriate training in the area of instruction
- Must be able to convey ideas clearly in the language of instruction
